Spotiguess rules: timer, replays and points
Everything below describes what the Spotiguess panel on this page actually does. None of it is a plan or a preview of a future feature.
Fifteen seconds a question
The countdown starts when the preview begins to play, not when the page loads. If it reaches zero, Spotiguess reveals the answer and the question scores nothing.
Replays keep the same clock
Replay the preview as often as you like inside those fifteen seconds. Spotiguess neither resets nor pauses the countdown for a replay, so a second listen costs points rather than time.
No skip button: the clock is the skip
Spotiguess has no give-up control in the middle of a question. When nothing sounds familiar, let the timer run out; the answer appears and the next song follows.
Up to 1,000 points a song
A correct answer is worth up to 1,000 points, and quicker recognition keeps more of them. Ten questions make 10,000 a perfect Spotiguess score, and your personal best stays in this browser, on this page.
Spotiguess plays from the SongSpot catalogue: recordings our team selected, checked for a working preview, and grouped into artist, genre and decade collections. The audio is the official thirty-second preview hosted by Apple Music, and every revealed answer links to that track.
Spotiguess cannot read a streaming account. There is no playlist import, no library sync, and no way to feed it your own saved songs; the questions come from our catalogue only. That is also why all four choices are real recordings rather than invented titles.
Because those clips are previews rather than whole songs, Spotiguess needs a connection and working audio. Headphones help on the quieter intros.

Yes. Spotiguess runs in your browser with no account, no download and no payment. You need a connection and working audio to hear the previews.
Can Spotiguess use my own playlists?
No. This page cannot connect to a streaming account, import a playlist or read your liked songs. Spotiguess builds every question from the SongSpot catalogue, and that is its only source of clips.
How long does a Spotiguess round take?
Ten questions at fifteen seconds each, plus the moments spent reading each answer: most players finish a Spotiguess round in about four minutes.
What happens when a clip will not play?
Spotiguess offers a retry control, and before the timer starts you can swap in a different song without losing the answers you have already given.
Does Spotiguess save my progress?
An unfinished round and your personal best stay in this browser, on this page only. Reloading keeps the answers you already gave, and a round you started on another SongSpot page is left untouched by Spotiguess.
How is this different from the SongSpot homepage game?
The homepage opens with a 0.1-second clue and asks you to search for the title. Spotiguess gives you a longer preview and four buttons instead, so it rewards quick recognition rather than typing.
Is Spotiguess connected to spotiguess.com or Tapzz?
