songspot Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of songspot.co and the songspot browser-based song guessing game. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Service

songspot presents short music-preview clues and asks players to identify a track. Features may include progressive clip lengths, difficulty levels, filters, title search, scores, round results, and optional account functionality.

The core game is currently available without creating an account. We may add, change, limit, suspend, or remove features, tracks, integrations, or access methods as the service evolves.

3. Eligibility

You may use the service only if you can legally agree to these Terms where you live. If you are not old enough to agree on your own, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you.

4. Accounts

If you create or connect an account, you must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and take responsibility for activity under your account. Notify us if you believe an account has been accessed without permission. We may require verification or restrict an account to protect the service or its users.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Break applicable law or infringe another party’s rights.
• Bypass rate limits, security controls, round validation, or access restrictions.
• Use bots, scrapers, automation, or bulk requests in a way that disrupts the game or infrastructure.
• Probe, attack, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to the service, accounts, data, or providers.
• Extract, download, redistribute, record, or commercially exploit music previews or metadata except as allowed by the applicable rightsholder or provider.
• Submit malware, deceptive requests, or content intended to harm users or systems.
• Misrepresent an affiliation with songspot or use the service to violate third-party terms.

6. Music, Trademarks, and Third-Party Services

Songs, recordings, compositions, artist names, album artwork, previews, service marks, and related rights belong to their respective owners. songspot does not grant you ownership of or a license to copy music made available through the game.

Track metadata and audio previews may come from third-party catalog or preview services. Outbound links may open Apple Music or another third-party service. Availability, regional access, preview duration, and third-party content can change without notice and are governed by the relevant provider’s terms.

songspot is an independent game and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by artists, labels, publishers, Apple Music, Songless, or other named third parties unless expressly stated.

7. Game Results and Fair Play

Search suggestions, answer matching, scores, difficulty labels, and track availability are provided for entertainment. Results may be affected by title variants, metadata, browser audio behavior, network conditions, or catalog changes. Do not rely on game results for competitions involving money, prizes, or legal rights unless separate written rules apply.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep songspot available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of any track, or compatibility with every device, browser, network, or region. We may perform maintenance or restrict access to address security, abuse, legal, licensing, provider, or technical issues.

9. Intellectual Property

The songspot interface, original text, branding, game presentation, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and licenses. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

Feedback you voluntarily send may be used to improve the service without an obligation to compensate you, provided we do not claim ownership of your pre-existing rights.

10. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or infrastructure, respond to legal requirements, or discontinue the service. Provisions that should logically survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related terms—will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so these exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, songspot and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or access arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Continuing to use the service after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
